The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) delivers world-class research, learning and teaching that transforms the knowledge, action and leadership needed for more equitable and sustainable development globally.
As part of our ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion, IDS recently conducted an extensive Equity and Inclusion review (Equality, diversity and inclusion - Institute of Development Studies (ids.ac.uk)), and we are now seeking a innovative individual to join our HR Team in a pivotal role.
As the Human Resources Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of various policies, practices, and initiatives to support the IDS Equality and Inclusion action plan and IDS Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and bring about key actions identified in the review, making a tangible impact on our organisation.
The successful candidate will have in depth and current knowledge of HR best practice along with a comprehensive understanding of UK employment legislation acquired through substantial, successful experience working with the HR profession. This position involves overseeing the HR Coordinator responsible for EDI and the IDS Safeguarding Officer so management skills and experience are essential.
This is a part time role and we can offer between 17.5 - 24 hours per week depending on your needs. At IDS, we understand and appreciate the value of a flexible work environment, and we support a hybrid working arrangement of 40-60%, allowing you to balance work and personal commitments effectively. Wednesday is our IDS in-day.
Further details:
IDS is committed to eliminating discrimination, and to embedding and supporting equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, in our work and in all our activities. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, irrespective of background, belief or identity and particularly encourage applications from groups which are underrepresented at IDS.
Our vision is of a more equitable and sustainable world, where people everywhere can live their lives free from poverty and injustice.
